Behind the Build | Ep. 11: Jo Muliaina

For Jo, the dream of building a family home started long before the plans were drawn.

After watching her family lose their home during the economic downturn, home ownership became something deeply personal. From starting again in Kerikeri to building a career with Adidas, Jo eventually made the decision that renting forever wasn’t part of the plan.

With KiwiSaver, determination and a little help from Mum, she bought her first home — and five years later, sold it for twice what she paid.

Now, that journey is coming full circle with a new family home at Waihī Beach.

A place where the kids can bike to school, swim across the road and enjoy some of the small-town life Jo loved growing up.
